So I just finished a surprise “while you were out” project that was thought of on Wednesday & finished on Tuesday. My broker & I have a friend who is one of those people who is always giving but never lets anyone do anything for her or her husband. For the past month or so she has been asking me if I could come over & give her some ideas on what she could do to her kitchen & to help her pick out paint colors. Wednesday morning we were over at her house & we started talking about what she could do with her kitchen. I told her I would pick out some paint colors & we’d get together after she got back in town the next week. After my broker, Cecil, & I got back to the office I said “wouldn’t it be fun if we just remodeled the kitchen for her before the returns from her trip?” I called our friend & told her that my creative juices were flowing & I was going to have some time to pick paint colors for her & could I get in her house while she was gone. She said sure & asked if I could water her plants also.
Our friend went out of town on Thursday…Thursday night we had picked out the paint colors & flooring, had purchased new lights & new closet doors…Friday morning the work began. It’s been a lot of long hours, and lots of help, but it’s done & I’m just waiting for the phone call when she walks into her house today (Wed) & see’s she has a different kitchen. Here are the before pictures:

So here is what we did. We put in new flooring, replaced the old track lighting, replaced the bi-fold doors, painted the ceiling, wall & cabinets, added cabinet handles, replaced some trim around the wood burning stove & hung some new shelves in the washer & dryer cabinet, replaced all outlets & switches with new white ones and hung new blinds.I had so much help & could not have done it without all the wonderful people who showed up & gave me a hand! THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HELPED!!! Here are the after photos:
