Art: First Thursday of the month many galleries (especially Pioneer Square) offer free admission to enter.

Chocolate Tours: Boehm’s Chocolate Factory in Issaquah offers free tours (reservations required),
Theo’s Chocolates in Fremont ($5/person) for afternoon tours

 

Summer Festivals: Bite of Seattle, Bumbershoot,Seafair,Northwest Folklife
 

Farmer’s Markets throughout the summer – Lake City, U-District, Phinney, Magnolia, Broadway, West Seattle, Columbia City
 

Farms: Biringer Farms, Stocker Farms, and Remlinger Farms both offer fruit picking and family events throughout the summer and year. 
 

Gardens:  Woodland Park Rose Garden, Volunteer Park botanical gardens, Washington Park Arboretum, Japanese Garden (Arboretum), Bellevue Botanical
 

Improv:  Jet City Improv is a clean and fun audience-led comedy improve group. Shows are late nights Fridays and Saturdays in the U-District.
 

Movies: Free outdoor movies at Gasworks, Marymoor Park, or in Fremont.
 

Music: Free evening recitals put on by UW’s Music Department, Magnuson park offers free evening concerts (and plays) on Fridays or Saturdays during the summer
 

Puppets: Northwest Puppet Center at 91st & 15th Ave houses the Carter Family Marionettes and has shows many Saturdays.
 

Rock Climbing: Near Husky Stadium at the Waterfront Activities Center, at Marymoor Park in Redmond, at Stone Gardens in Ballard, REI Store in Downtown

Water fun: Rent canoes, paddle boats, or rowboats from UW’s boathouse and paddle around
